LG has announced just now that its LG G Watch running Android Wear OS, and which was unveiled on 26th June, is now available for purchase from the Google Play Store as well as key retailers in twelve countries including United States, Canada, France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Japan and South Korea. For India, the Google Play store has listed this watch at Rs. 14,999. In fifteen other countries, which include Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and New Zealand, the LG G Watch will be available at retailers. The prices will be announced locally in these markets.
The LG G Watch has button-less design and features a Always-On 1.65-inch IPS display. It is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
The G Watch has an intuitive touch-based user interface, and its Always-On screen makes it possible to see the time with a quick glance. This smartwatch is connected via Bluetooth with Android smartphones running Android 4.3 and above. The LG G Watch displays messages, shows who’s calling, controls music playback and there is no need to access your smartphone for these activities. On this watch, the users can also send text messages and search for useful information just by saying, “Ok Google.”
The LG G Watch is designed to be protected from dust and water resistant for up to 30 minutes to a depth of one meter. The LG G Watch will be available in two colors- Black Titan and White Gold and is made of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coated stainless steel with a rugged silicone wristband in matching color. The LG G Watch can be personalized with any standard 22mm strap available in the market.
