LG has announced today that it will start updating its latest flagship phone LG G4 with the recenly announced Android 6.0 Marshmallow. To begin with, LG will roll-out Marshmallow update on G4 in Poland beginning next week followed by other markets in Europe, Asia and the US to follow. LG is the first company to update its smartphone to the latest Android M OS.
The latest Android Marshmallow comes out with many added features such as Google Now on Tap, faster access to voice action, fast scroll and search, and run-time permissions to name a few. Google has also given special importance to enhance the life of battery life with the recent update to solve the problem of frequent charging which is the bane even of many flagship devices. Google has also introduced Doze Mode which shuts down background processing of certain apps when the phone is not in use, which result in prolonging battery life. The new M OS also has feature of showing battery charging speed indicator.
“By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company. “While speed alone isn’t an indicator of great service, it does go a long way toward giving consumers the confidence that LG is committed to its existing customers first.”
