LG has announced today that its two latest smartphones – LG Spirit LTE & LG G4 Stylus 4G are available in India now with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) features, which according to LG allows faster transmission of data and voice. LG Spirit LTE is priced Rs. 12,990 whereas LG G4 Stylus 4G has a price tag of Rs. 20,990.
According to LG, ”VoLTE is an acronym for Voice over Long Term Evolution which is based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network, with specific profile for control and media planes of voice service. This approach results in delivery of voice just as the data flows within the LTE data bearer, which in turn implies that there is no dependency on legacy circuit switch voice networks to be maintained. A VoLTE device has up to three times more voice and data capacity than normal 3G networks and up to six times more than 2G GSM”.
”VoWiFi is an acronym for Voice over Wi-Fi. The defining feature of this service is that it allows interoperability of a handset between Wi-Fi and cellular service. It is expected to be beneficial to the users who have poor cellular coverage in their homes.”
The LG Spirit sports a 4.7-inch HD (312 ppi) display and is packed with a 2,100mAh battery. It is driven by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core chipset combined with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal stoarge. This device measures 133.3 x 66.1 x 9.9mm. This smartphone comes with 8MP rear camera and 1MP front camera.
The LG G4 Stylus is a pen-enabled smartphone and incorporates major user-experience features available on LG’s flagship G4 device.
The G4 Stylus features a 5.7-inch HD IPS (258ppi) display , slightly larger than the 5.5-inch display found in the G4. The G4 Stylus includes LG’s versatile Rubberdium Stylus, allowing for easy note taking and drawing on the large display of this phablet.
The G4 Stylus is driven by 1.2GHz Quad-Core (LTE) processor paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storge with the option of expanding it to 64GB via microSD card. It is packed with a powerful 3000mAh battery.
It is equipped with 13MP rear cameras with Laser Auto-Focus camera and 5MP front-facing camera. Its super-fast Laser Autofocus feature is also derived from previous G Series smartphones for sharply focused shots even in dim surroundings. It also come with features such as Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code.
Both the devices run on Android Lollipop 5.0 OS.
LG has also announced that it has entered into exclusive sales and distribution partnership with Reliance Retail to sell its LG Spirit LTE & LG G4 Stylus via Relaince’s retail network of 1200 distributors and 150,000 retail outlets that will support the evolving VoLTE & VoWiFi device ecosystem in the country.
