LG has announced today that it is commencing global roll-out of its KizON wristband exclusively for pre-school and primary school children, which was unveiled in July. The KizON wristband will be available first in Poland, followed by other European markets.
The KizON wristband has been designed to help parents to keep track of their young children’s whereabouts. The KizON wristband utilises GPS and Wi-Fi, which provides real-time location information allowing parents to track their children’s whereabouts on a smartphone or tablet.
The KizON is the first wearable device to receive the Green Product Mark from Europe’s leading testing, inspection, and certification body, TUV Rheinland, and ECOLOGO Platinum certification from 120 years old Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) Environment of US. The KizON was subjected to a rigorous process to assess its performance in a number of parameters and only then the above two certificates were given to it.
The KizON has been developed to not only keep track of the kids by their parents, but will also be a useful tool in the event of an emergency. It is easy to use and with One Step Direct Call, parents can communicate with their children as well as get information on the location of their children throughout the day. Moreover, with one press of the One Step Direct Call button, children can also dial a pre-configured phone number, which can be changed at any time through a smartphone or tablet running Android 4.1 or higher. If the child fails to answer a call from any of the pre-configured numbers within ten seconds, KizON will automatically connect the call to let the parents listen through the built-in microphone. Another important function of KizON is Location Reminder, which gives adults the ability to pre-set the device to provide location alerts at specific times throughout the day.
The battery life for KizON is claimed to be of 36 hours and parents will be alerted via their smartphones when the battery on KizON falls below 25 percent. The band is made of eco-friendly polythiourethane (PTU) material that is water-resistant as well as stain resistant.
To make KizON band attractive for the kids, it will come with a wide range of accessories featuring popular animation characters. It will be available in two colors: blue and pink. LG has not announced its price and as usual, the same will be disclosed close on the heels of its availability in the respective markets.
