LG has started rolling out Action CAM which is the first action camera with LTE connectivity built-in. It allows users to stream directly to sites such as YouTube Live without a smartphone. This camea was unveiled in the month of May and is part of Friend ecosystem announced with modular LG G5 smartphone. LG Action CAM will be available from today in South Korea followed by other global markets.
In addition to its live streaming feature, LG Action CAM will offer remote access functionality via 3G and LTE which will enable the device to be used as a CCTV camera for home monitoring or as an automobile dash camera. Images and videos shot with LG Action CAMLTE can be downloaded and saved on paired smartphones via the Action CAM app available on Google Play. The camera can record up to three hours of Full HD video on smartphones running Android 5.0 or iOS9 and higher, as stated by LG.
The LG Action CAM is completely protected from dust, sand and has rating of IP67. It can be immersed in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. With the optional mount, the LG Action CAM can capture smooth videos while attached to helmets, bicycles, cars and other fast moving objects.
This camera is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Processor and gets its juice from 1400mAh battery, which provides Full HD recording time of up to four hours as per LG.
