LG has unveiled today LG Wine Smart flip phone also known as folder or clamshell phones. The Wine Smart runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This phone was introduced in domestic Korean market as LG Gentle. LG Wine Smart will roll out later this month in select countries including France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Kazakhstan, Japan and the United Kingdom.
LG Wine Smart flip phone sports a 3.2-inch HVGA (480 x 320) display with a large physical 3×4 numeric keypad for easy and accurate typing and hotkeys that provide instant access to frequently used features such as phone dialer, address book, text messages or camera. The Wine Smart includes LG’s Safety Care feature which can be set to automatically transmit emergency alerts and real-time location to pre-selected contacts whenever the user needs immediate assistance.
It is driven by a 1.1GHz Quad-Core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage with the option to extend it with the help of microSd card. The Wine Smart is equipped with 3MP rear camera and also houses a front VGA. This phone is packed with 1,700mAh (removable) battery.
The Wine Smart supports 4G LTE / HSPA+ 42Mbps (3G) networks and also offers connectivity options of Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB 2.0. This phone has dimensions of 117.7 x 58.7 x 16.6mm and its weight is 143 grams. It will be available in Burgundy and Navy colors.
“Our goal with LG Wine Smart was to create a smartphone that fans of flip phones could embrace,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company. “Consumers shouldn’t have to miss out on the smartphone revolution because they prefer a particular phone design over another. With LG Wine Smart, they won’t have to.”
LG has not revealed the price of Wine Smart and the same will be announced close on the heels of its availability in the respecctive markets.
