Third day of MCG test at Melbourne was very engrossing when 15 wickets tumbled. India started the day with overnight score of 214/3 but were bundled out cheaply for 282 runs and conceded 51 runs vital lead which will prove disastrous for India.
At stumps, Aussies were 179/8 and total lead is now 230 runs and their star batsman is still at the crease standing like a wall at unbeaten score of 79 and if Aussies are able to extend the lead to 300 then it will be extremely difficult for India to chase this score in the fourth inning as this score will prove too big to surpass in MCG.
What went wrong with India? India were at comfortable score of 214/3 on day 2 and as usual, after good start given by our opening batsmen especially Sehwag, Sachin and Dravid, our famed middle order batsmen failed and could not capitalise on the solid platform set by the openers.
But our bowlers did not let us down in the second innings of Aussies and reduced them to 179/8 at the close of the play. They will have to keep the pressure tomorrow morning and if they can consume the remaining two wickets within 20 runs then again the game will be evenly poised and by 10 am tomorrow, we will be able to predict who will be the winner of this boxing day encounter.
Team India, do not squander away this golden chance to conquer final frontiers. Restrict Australia to total lead of 250 and bat sensibly and enjoy the summer in Australia! Good Luck and cheers for tomorrow!
