It is the season of Chinese smartphones in India. It appears all the Chinese smartphone maker has decided to flood the Indian market with their products via e-commerce sites. Today, we saw arrival of Meizu MX5 and Zopo smartphones in India. Here we shall discuss about Meizu MX5, which was launched at an event in New Delhi attended by media and fans of Meizu.
Meizu MX5 with 16GB internal storage is priced Rs. 19,999 and will go on sale exclusively on Snapdeal.com at 2PM today.
The MX5 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display from Samsung having resolution of 1920 x 1080, pixel density of 441ppi, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The company claims that the Super Amoled display on the MX5 smartphone incorporates the same technology which Samsung has employed on its recent Galaxy S6 smartphone.
The Mx5 is powered by Mediatek’s latest Helio X10 64-bit octa-core 2.2GHz CPU with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It comes with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device with 32GB and 64GB internal storage will be launched at later date. It is fuelled by a 3150mAh battery with mCharge fast charging technology which is claimed to allow you to charge it from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes.
The MX5 is equipped with 20.7 megapixels rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, f/2/2 aperture and 6 elements lens. It has Laser-aided focusing and Dual-color flashlight. For selfies, it houses a 5 megapixels front shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The MX5 is the first MX-series phone supporting dual-SIMs with dual-4G. Primary 4G SIM-card is for high-speed internet, while the second SIM-card provides you with 2G voice calls. This phone also supports Bluetooth4.1 and WiFi.
The other features of MX5 are its fingerprint sensor mTouch 2.0, which is capable of making identification faster. It runs on Flyme 4.5 UI based on Android 5.0.1 OS.
This phone also comes with gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and digital compass. It has dimensions of 149.9×74.7×7.6mm and its weight is 149 grams. According to Meizu, the MX5 is 23 grams lighter than iPhone 6 Plus. This phone is very sleek and made of metal used in Aviation industry, as claimed by the company.
Meizu also informed at the launch event that it has opened 40 service centers in 20 cities to provide efficient after-sales service to Indian customers.
