Microsoft today rolled out two new mid-range smartphones in India at an event in New Delhi, Microsoft Lumia 640 XLDual SIM and Microsoft Lumia 640Dual SIM.The Lumia 640 XL is priced at Rs. 15,799 and will be available across retails channels whereas Lumia 640 will be available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 11,999. Both these devices will be available starting 7th April, 2015. These two devices were unveiled at recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
These Lumia devices run on the latest version of Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim update, complete with one-swipe Action Center, Word Flow and Live Folders. These are upgradable to Windows 10 OS, when it becomes available later this year.
Both the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor featuring quad-core CPU running at 1.2GHz, coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which is expandable to 128GB via microSD card. The Lumia 640 features a 5 inches HD display(1280×720,294 PPI) whereas the Lumia 640 XL has a HD display of 5.7 inches(1280×720, 259 PPI). Both the devices have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Both Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL will be available in Dual SIM 3G variants.
The Lumia 640 is equipped with 8MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash and 0.9MP Wide angle front facing camera whereas the Lumia 640 XL comes wih 13MP ZEISS optics and 5 MP Wide angle front camera.
The Lumia 640 is packed with 2500 mAh battery whereas the Lumia 640 XL is fuelled by a 3000 mAh battery. The Lumia 640 has dimensions of 141.3 x 72.2 x 8.85mm and its weight is 144 grams. On the other hand, the 640XL has dimensions of 157.9 x 81.5 x 9mm, and this device weighs 171g.
The Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL also come with a one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal, which includes the latest Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote) worth INR 3,299/- as a limited time offer available between April to June, 2015 which also includes a massive 1 Terabyte of OneDrive storage. Besides this, the buyers will get Olacabs cashback worth INR 800 on Ola money recharges where consumers will get INR 200 cashback per recharge for the first four recharges of INR 500 or higher.
