It was eventful Wednesday in New York. After announcements of two new Lumia smartphones by Nokia, it was the turn of Motorola to keep media busy with another announcement. Google Inc’s Motorola Mobility has announced the launch of three new smartphones – Droid Razr HD, Droid Razr Maxx HD and Droid Razr M. These three smartphones will run Google’s latest Android Jelly Bean OS.
The Motorola Droid Razr HD features 4.7″ inch display. This phone is said to contain 50 per cent more pixels than the Razr, and 85 per cent more color saturation than the iPhone 4S. The phone is powered by a dual-core processor. The phone has a 2,500 mAh battery, which is designed for watching up to 10 hours of movies and TV shows or 6 hours of surfing the Web.The Droid Razr HD will come pre-installed with Google Chrome. It measures 131.9 x 67.9 x 8.4mm.
The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is the second smartphone launched by Motorola. This phone features a more powerful battery than the Droid Razr HD. The phone offers 32 GB of storage. The Droid Razr Maxx HD is touted to offer 27 hours of music streaming over LTE on a single charge, and 21 hours of talk time.
The third smartphone Droid Razr M feature super AMOLED Advanced 4.3-inch display, which spans from edge-to-edge with almost no borders. It offers 8 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM. The Motorola Droid Razr M sports an 8 megapixel rear camera. Other features include 4G LTE, Gorilla Glass, NFC and 1080 p videos. It is engineered with a 2,000 mAh battery. This smartphone will be available in the US on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network for $99.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
Available in sleek black or stand out white, the Motorola RAZR HD will be coming soon to consumers in various countries throughout Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and Latin America. In the US, it will be available before the holidays on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. DROID RAZR MAXX HD will be available before the holidays in black in the US on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. More details on timing and pricing will be made close to availability dates.
These three devices have been launched by Motorola to compete with bigger rivals Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co for the ensuing holiday shopping season and get reasonable market share of mobile segment.
