Motorola India is set to launch its latest Moto E (Gen 2) 3G and the Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) LTE smartphone, which was announced only last week. Motorola India has sent out an invite for 10th March event, where these two new variants will be launched in New Delhi.
The Moto E (Gen 2) 3G is expected to be priced around Rs. 6,999 and the LTE variant is speculated to be priced in the range of Rs. 8,999. These two devices will also be sold exclusively on Flipkart.
Both the variants of new Moto E (Gen 2 ) run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and support single-SIM. They come with identical specifications except difference in chipset. The 3G variant is driven by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC (with Adreno 302) whereas the Moto E LTE variant is packed with a 64-bit quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC (with Adreno 306). Both the devices come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded upto 32GB via microSD card.
Both the new variants feature a 4.5-inch qHD (540×960 pixel) display with a pixel density of 245ppi. This display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and comes with anti-smudge coating.
Both the new variants of Moto E (Gen 2) are equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera. Motorla has included LED flash in rear camera and also brought 0.3 MP camera in the front. The new variants are packed with a 2390mAh battery.
The Moto E (Gen 2) LTE smartphone will compete with Lenovo A6000 priced at Rs. 6,999 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, which is available for Rs. 9,999. The biggest advantage of new Moto E devices is that they run on the latest Android Lollipop OS and comes with slew of new camera and other features.
