Nokia India has launched today Lumia 525 at an event in New Delhi, which the successor to its highly successful Lumia 520 smartphone, at an attractive price of Rs. 10,399. The Lumia 525 was unveiled globally in November 2013, and this smartphone looks identical to its predecessor Lumia 525. This phone will go on sale in India from today and will be available in Orange, White, Yellow and Black colours.
Nokia Lumia 525 features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800) IPS LCD display, and is powered by dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It runs Windows Phone 8 with the Lumia Black update It comes with 1GB of RAM unlike Lumia 525, which had 512MB RAM. Other specifications of the Lumia 525 are identical to that of Lumia 520, and one can say that this is the old wine with little improvement in new bottle.
The Lumia 525 has 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB with microSD card. Like other Lumia devices, the Lumia 520 also offers 7GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage.Nokia has also announced that all new Nokia Lumia devices purchased between January 7 and January 31 will get free 20GB Skydrive storage for a year. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash. The rear camera on the Lumia 525 features Nokia Smart Camera Cinemagraph lens, Panorama lens, and Bing vision with other image enhancements options like touch to focus, landscape orientation, auto and manual exposure, and geo-tagging.
The Nokia Lumia 525 is packed with a 1430mAh battery which Nokia claim can deliver up to 17 hours of talk time and up to 336 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, and 3G. The Lumia 525 also includes location and navigation apps such as HERE Drive, HERE Maps, and HERE Transit.
