Nothing has announced today black edition of its earbuds, ear (1). The lightweight true wireless earbuds has kept its distinctive transparent case but comes with new smoky finish and a matte black colourway of the silicone earbuds and internal casing. It has all the same features which were available on its white edition launched in July this year such as 34 hours playtime with the case, powerful 11.6mm driver and leading specs including Active Noise Cancellation.
Nothing has confirmed that ear (1) is now carbon neutral. Nothing worked with internationally recognised third parties, like Geneva-headquartered SGS, to independently assess and neutralise the carbon footprint of the first product in its ecosystem. The 1.78kg carbon footprint of ear (1) will be revealed on a new packaging label, which the company hopes will empower users to make better informed purchases.
Priced at Rs. 6999 in India, open sales of ear (1) black edition will start at 12 noon IST on 13 December on Flipkart. On nothing.tech, consumers will also be able to purchase with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC) and Dogecoin (DOGE). This payment option will be available in select countries, excluding India.
Before official sales, Nothing will be releasing the100 first units of ear (1) black edition, which will be individually engraved from 1 to 100. In a first for the brand, customers will be able to purchase the limited edition units exclusively at the Nothing Kiosk, a new limited installation that will operate from 11:00-19:00 GMT starting from 04 December at Seven Dials, Covent Garden in London. Stock will be limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
Nothing ear (1) Black edition also has transparent design which exposes the engineering inside including microphones, magnets and circuit board.
Active Noise Cancellation on ear (1) uses three high definition mics. Its Light mode can be used for moderate noise cancellation and Maximum mode for noisier environments like when on an airplane or at the office. It also has Transparency mode. For loud and clear calls, Clear Voice Technology was specially-developed for ear (1) to reduce distractive background noise, like wind. The ear (1) also comes with features of Find My Earbud, EQ, Active Noise Cancellation and Gesture Control customisation via the ear (1) App which is compatible with Android 5.1 and above and iOS 11 and above, as well as In-Ear Detection and Fast Pairing with Bluetooth 5.2. The ear (1) earbuds are also sweat and water splash resistant.
Battery of ear (1) delivers up to 5.7 hours of listening time and up to 34 hours with the case. The battery offers ultra-fast charging and with 10 minutes charge of the case, it delivers up to 8 hours for a day’s power. The Nothing ear (1) charges wirelessly and is compatible with all Qi chargers.
