Obi Mobiles have officially announced the launch of two new smartphones – Obi Alligator and Obi Hornbill S551. These smartphones run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. The Obi Alligator is priced at Rs. 6,450 and Obi Hornbill has a price tag of Rs. 9,250.Both the smartphones announced today have same hardware features except the difference in display, battery and imaging capabilities.
The Obi Alligator S454 features a 4.5 inch qHD (540×960 pixel) IPS display, and is equipped with an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. This smartphone is fuelled by a 1600mAh battery.
On the other hand, the Obi Hornbill S551 sports a 5.5 inch HD (720×1280 pixel) IPS display, and comes with a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. It is packed with a 2200mAh battery.
Rest of the features are same on both the smartphones. Both the smartphones are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor with Mali 400 MP2 graphics, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable to 32GB via microSD card. Both the smartphones support Dual-SIM.
For connectivity, both the smartphones offer options of 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS,GPRS/ EDGE etc. These smartphones come with pre-loaded apps of Truecaller and Hungama. Both the smartphones support 18 regional languages for the ease of operation.
