Obi Mobiles Enters India & Launches Octopus S520 Smartphone With 5 Inch Display At Rs. 11,990

As expected, Obi Mobiles has started its operations in India with the silent launch of its first smartphone known as Octopus S520 with 5 inch display at Rs. 11,990. This smartphone will be sold intially throung the online marketplace Snapdeal.com.

The Octopus S520 comes in sleek design and has full-aluminum back cover which enahnces its elegance. It sports a 5 inch HD IPS touch screen(1280 X 720). It is powered by MediaTek 1.7 GHz Octa Core processor, paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB Of internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 32GB via microSD card. The Octopus S520 supports Dual SIM – Micro and Mini SIM cards, and runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS. This smartphone is fitted with 8MP Rear and 2MP Front cameras.

The Octopus S520 is fuelled by a 1800 mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver standby time of upto 180 Hours and talktime of upto 240 minutes. The dimensions of this phone are Size: 145.0 mm X 75.0 mm X 8.4 mm.

The Octopus S520 comes with a Flip Cover, a Screen Protector along with USB Charger and in-ear bud type ear phones as a standard offering.

According to Obi Mobiles, they have country wide network of over 95 service centres for after sales support.

Obi has debuted in India at a time when the recent entrants like Asus with ZenFone series and Xiaomi with Mi3 and other models have come out with their powerful smartphones at very aggressive prices. Obi will not only have to compete with above companies but also with the Indian handsets makers.
