Chines handsets maker Oppo has started its opertions a few days ago by launching their flagship Oppo N1 smartphone at the whopping price of Rs. 39,999. Now, in order to cater to the demands of entry-level good smartphone, they have started teasing out their budjet smartphone Oppo Neo, which will be launched in India at Rs. 11,990.
The Oppo New sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display (854 x 480 pixel resolution) 217ppi. , and comes with Gloves Mode feature, which means you can access the screen and operate it with wearing gloves. The Oppo Neo is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, couple with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.. The smartphone is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Oppo Neo is packed with a 1900mAh battery. The smartphone measures 132 x 65.8 x 9.2mm, and weighs 130 grams.
The Oppo Neo is being promoted for its gesture controls features. The gesture-based controls enable this smartphone to draw a circel to open the camera when the screen is off, and with double tap, the phone screen can wake-up. With this gesture feature, you can also draw figures on the gesture panel to directly go to an app assigned for the respective figure.These gesture controlled features are also used by other smartphone players including Lava and Micromax, on their smartphones.
The Oppo Neo will face tough competition in India from the recently launched Moto G and Micromax,Lava,Karbonn and Xolo smartphone with almost similar specifications and prices. How Oppo cops up with the aggressive competition, is to be seen in the coming months.
