OPPO Smartphone Is An Emerging Brand In India & Other Countries

oppo-logoOPPO headquartered in China is a leading smartphone brand with presence in North America, Europe and Asia. Of late, it has shown aggrerssion in India and has launched 20 handsets in Indian market till its debut around two years ago. Oppo smartphones are available in the price range of INR 6500 to INR 42999.

Under the Make in India vision of Prime Minister Narendera Modi, Oppo has announced its plans with electronics assembly manufacturer Foxconn to start an assembly line for its smartphones in the Sri City plant special economic zone in Tamil Nadu.

Oppo has not declared its market share in India but they are quite popular in other countries also. They are among the “top three” players in Indonesia, with more than 11 percent market share. Similarly they have 13 percent in Vietnam and almost 11 percent share in Malaysia.

They had a target to sell 15 million units in 2015. Whether they have exceeded the expectation or not only the time will tell.

Oppo smartphones are known for innovative technologies. Oppo’s rapid-charging technology, which is called “VOOC”, is capable of charging the phone’s battery from zero to 75% in only 30 minutes. Another innovation employed by Oppo on its smartphone is motorized camera with 206°rotation which gives you the ability to capture every move, every nuance. You can control the rotating camera via on-screen gestures, O-Click and voice commands.

Oppo has introduced various smartphones in India in different categories to meet the specific demands of the consumers. Some of the smartphones of Oppo are listed below with their salient features in brief:

High End Models

OPPO R7 Plus


OPPO R7 Plus has a uni-body design and aircraft grade magnesium-aluminum alloy is used to build it. It goes through 48 polishing processes using the new anodizing technology. OPPO R7 Plus sports a 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display (1920×1080 pixels) with 367 ppi. The device offers 2.5D Arc-Edge screen which has slightly rounded glass edges and makes sliding finger much more natural than compared with using a flat panel.This is Dual-SIM device and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8939 1.5GHz Octa-Core 64-bit processor with 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM, which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card.

The OPPO R7 Plus is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera with 80 degree angle. The R7 Plus incorporates Flash Shot Technology, standard Contrast Detection Autofocus (AF) and Laser Focus. Its laser autofocus system targets and focuses precisely on a subject in under 0.3 seconds. Moreover, the OPPO R7 Plus camera is backed by OPPO’s unique anti-shake optimization feature which enable the users to take multiple images in seconds before and after the pressing of the shutter and choose the clearest one clicked image.

This smartphone is fuelled by a massive 4100 mAh inbuilt lithium-polymer battery supported by OPPO’s VOOC rapid charging solution.


OPPO N3 features a 16 megapixel rotating camera with 206 degrees rotation and is capable to take 64 megapixel high resolution images using its free-stop and multi-angle shooting. Users can control the camera rotation in three ways – by O-click, gestures and touch access. The OPPO N3 is powered by the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU and is packed with 32G ROM and 2G RAM and a 5.5-inch Full HD screen having 1920×1080 resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone includes OPPO’s VOOC mini rapid charging system.

OPPO R7 Lite

The R7 Lite features a 5-inch AMOLED HD display (1280×720 pixels) with 294ppi. It also boast of 2.5D Curved Screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 615 1.3GHz Octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB. R7 Lite sports 13 MP rear and 8 MP front cameras. It has same camera features which are available on R7 Plus. It is packed with 2320mAh battery.

OPPO Mirror 5

The Mirror 5 comes with a unique diamond-like mirrored back panel designed with individual cut-glass segments consisting of different reflective properties.  It features a 5 inch IPS display with resolution of 960×540 pixels and 220 PPI. This is Dual-SIM device and runs on OPPO’s latest ColorOS 2.1 based on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad-Core 64 bit processor coupled with 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, that can be expanded to 128GB via microSD card. The Mirror 5 is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

Budget smartphones

OPPO Neo 7

The OPPO Neo 7 features a 5 Inch qHD display. It is packed with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306. It comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB with microSD card support. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with OPPO’s customised ColorOS 2.1 on top. This phone has been fitted with an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash and f/2.0 aperture. It also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.The camera has 11 filters and 3 beautify modes. The Neo 7 can easily edit images without downloading additional apps. Special function like Double Exposure allows users to take two separate photos and overlap them to create a single image. OPPO Joy 3

Oppo Joy 3 features a 4.5-inch IPS display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM extendable to 32GB via microSD card. This phone runs on ColorOS 2.0.1 based on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

It is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. This phone incorporates  OPPO’s unique Pure Image 2.0+ core imaging technology which enable users to click great images with ease and also has double exposure feature for overlapping two images and  Beautify feature enhances portraits to ensure users always look their best.
