Panasonic has launched in India the Toughbook CF-C2, one of the most durable and flexible business convertible PC’s designed for healthcare professionals, aviation technicians and automotive engineers. It will be available in the market from January 2013 with prices starting Rs. 1 lakh excluding taxes.
Toughbook CF-C2 comes with 12.5-inch capacitive 5-finger multi-touch display and can be used both in tablet and clamshell mode, as the screen remains rigid to the touch due to its rugged enhanced triple hinge. Panasonic has added its own anti-reflection layer to this HD screen and claims that the combination makes this Toughbook optimal for outdoor viewing. The semi rugged CF-C2 has been designed to withstand drops of up to 76cm (6angles), and comes with a water resistant keyboard and touchpad and strengthened glass on the LCD.
It runs on Intel Core i5 vPro processor, which clocks up to 2.8GHz with 4GB RAM, which can be extendable to 8GB RAM. Toughbook CF-C2 comes with Windows 8 pre-loaded on it.
One has the option of choosing three battery options for this device. The standard 6-cell battery configuration will deliver approx.11 hours operation, the 3-cell smart battery delivers approximately 5 hours operation and the 9-cell high capacity battery provides approximately 15 hours of use.
The device is also optimised for connectivity whatever the location and includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wireless LAN a/b/g/n and optional Sierra MC8305 3G module. One also has an option to add NFC to this Toughbook. Intel Anti Theft and Computrace security features are also supported.
For user needing to Skype or capture photographic images of documentation in the field, the CF-C2 is equipped with a high quality HD 720p (Still image Max. 1280 x 720) front web camera and a high resolution HD 720p (Still image Max. 2048 x 1536) rear documentation camera can be optionally added.
