POCO brand has launched today their budget smartphone, POCO M5, at a starting price of INR 12499. This phone has ‘premium-leather-like’ finesse at the back panel that gives it a classy look and perfect in-hand feel with zero smudges as stated by the brand and comes with impressive features at less than 13K price point.
The POCO M5 features a 6.58-inch 90Hz FHD+ IPS LCD panel with 2400X1080 resolution with a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The display automatically adapts to 30Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz refresh rate depending on the type of content streaming. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This phone is powered by MediaTek 6nm Helio G99 SoC with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 graphics card. It comes with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 64GB/128GB storage which can be further extended upto 512GB via microSD card. It also comes with Turbo RAM feature to facilitate smooth functioning and further enhances the overall device performance as required by the users as claimed by POCO. This phone is packed with massive 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support (with an in box 22.5W charger). Despite featuring a massive battery, POCO M5 is super thin at just 8.9mm.
For photography, this phone is armed with 50MP primary rear camera supported by 2MP Macro sensor and 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, it has 8MP front snapper. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. This phone runs on Android 11 with MIUI 13. This phone does not support 5G but offers connectivity for Dual 4G VoLTE and also Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and USB Type-C.
POCO M5 comes in Yellow, Icy Blue, and Power Black colors. It will be available in 4GB+64GB variant at INR 12,499 and 6GB+128GB variant at INR 14,499, respectively. It will be available on Flipkart starting September 13. As part of the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale and limited period offer, ICICI and Axis Bank card holders can avail a flat discount of INR 1,500 and can get POCO M5 at INR 10,999 for the base variant and INR 12,999 for the higher variant. Further, consumers will also get a free 1-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar and 6 month free screen protection.
