Reliance Jio Will Provide Free Wi-Fi During T20 World Cup & IPL At Six Cricket Stadiums

Reliance Jio has announced that it will provide Jionet, high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity at six main stadiums across the country during T20 World Cup followed by the IPL (Indian Premier League) . This is a first for Jio Net to be connecting six cricket stadiums in the country at one go and it is being done on a complimentary basis.

Jionet high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity will be provided in Bangalore (M. Chinnaswamy Stadium) having capacity of  35,000; Dharmashala (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium)- 23,000 seating cpacity, Kolkata (Eden Gardens) – 68,000 capacaity; Mohali (Punjab Cricket Association Stadium) with 26,000 capacity; New Delhi (Feroz Shah Kotla) with 41,820 capacity and Mumbai (Wankhede Stadium) with 33,108 capacity.

According to the company, Jionet has embarked on this huge project as a part of revolutionizing how spectators experience the games, as they are commonly faced with issues regarding connectivity. Mobile networks aren’t able to handle such large data traffic Jionet will change this – the connectivity will not only be adequate but will actually be many times faster than experienced before. As a result of which, spectators will be able to share their story ball by ball, connect with their friends and family, surf, stay connected on social networking sites, and more.

To make this possible, Jionet has harnessed its superior network capacity along with an excellent deployment of specially designed, state-of-the-art Wi-Fi access points (APs) that will cover the entire stadium with a seating capacity of minimum 20,000.
