At an event in Mumbai, Ricoh India has launched today Ricoh Theta S 360 Degree Camera, which will be available from December at a base price of Rs.39,995. This handheld camera can capture 360-degree scenes surrounding the user.
Ricoh Thets S is a lightweight portable camera and is capable of capturing high-resolution spherical images of up to nearly 14 megapixels. It is equipped with an enlarged image sensor and fast F2.0 lenses which allow more light through Ricoh’s proprietary ultra-small twin-lens folded-optical system. The users can record spherical video in full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels at 30fps) with maximum recording time of 25 mins.
This camera comes with an elegant, sure-grip black rubber coating and handy face-mounted LED mode indicator. This camera has internal memory of 8GB, but there is no provision to expand it further with the microSD card support.This camera can be connected to both Android and iOS smartphone through Wi-Fi.
The spherical images clicked on this camera or videos made, can be uploaded to theta360.com and shared via various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and can also be posted to Google Maps, Google+ and YouTube 360°Channel.
