Samsung has announced the Galaxy Note 8.0 in India, which will be marketed here as Galaxy Note 510. The Galaxy Note 8.0 was unveiled few days ago at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Samsung has not disclosed yet pricing and availability schedule of this device in India.
The Galaxy Note 510 features an 8-inch TFT LCD with 1280 x 800 pixel display and a 189ppi pixel density. It is powered by an Exynos 4 Quad processor clocked at 1.6GHz, and has 2GB of RAM, comes with 16/32GB internal storage options with additional expansion support up to 32GB via microSD. Running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the tablet has a 5-megapixel rear and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. This tablet measures 210.8 x 135.9 x 8 mm and weighs 338 grams.
The tablet comes with a host of pre-installed applications such as the proprietary and now upgraded Chat-On 2.0 messenger, Awesome Note and Flipboard amongst many others. All of Samsung’s Note devices come with S Pens and the Note 510 is no different. It has S Pen support with Air View, S Note, S Planner, Email with hand-writing integration and more.
The Note 510 looks like an oversized Galaxy Note 2 and it has voice-calling functionality also. Besides the Wi-Fi connectivity option, the SIM slot has HSPA+ support for data and voice.

This tablet has been positioned by Samsung to give competition to Apple’s mini iPad and the lot will depend upon the pricing of this tablet. Samsung has also not revealed yet the price of Galaxy Note 8.0 for other markets except that the same will start shipping in the quarter April-June.
