After several speculations and leaks, Samsung has finally announced its Galaxy Premier smartphone which features a 4.65″ inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 1280×720 resolution and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The look of this smartphone resembles that of Galaxy S III.
This smartphone boasts of a 8 megapixel, autofocus camera with LED flash, and a 1.9-megapixel HD camera. Under the hood of this phone is 1.5 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM. The phone supports 1080p videos. Its connectivity options include WiFi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0. The device will be available in 8 GB/16 GB storage options with microSD support of up to 64 GB. It is powered by a 2100 mAh battery, and the phone weighs just 130 grams.
The Galaxy Premier will offer some of the features only previously available in the Galaxy S III, including Best Photo, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Pop-Up Play, S Voice, and S Beam.
This smartphone will make its debut in Russia in November. Currently, the phone has only been made official in the Ukraine, where it has been scheduled to be released in November at approx. equivalent price of $ 670. This is the speculative price as the company has not disclosed its official price yet. The company has also not revealed when this device will be available in other countries and India.
By launching the Galaxy Premier, Samsung has expanded its portfolio of Galaxy range of smartphones and it is expected that this device will be positioned in between Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III. The idea is to lure the customers to buy this smartphone who can’t afford its flagship Galaxy S III and who wants to experience some of the unique features of their latest state-of-the art phone.
