Samsung has also launched today its Galaxy J Max phablet alongwith Galaxy J2 2016 smartphone. The Galaxy J Max is the biggest smartphone so far from the house of Samsung having a display of 7 inch. This phablet is priced Rs. 13,400 and will start selling in India by the end of this month. This will be available in black and gold colors.
The Galaxy J Max is targetted for those customers who want a phone for huge content consumption and hence Samsung has bundled this device with Bluetooth headset and one year premium ad-free subscription of Viu which offers Bollywood and regional movies, TV shows and music videos etc.
The Galaxy J Max sports a huge 7 inch WXGA TFT LCD display (1280 X 800 pixels). This phablet is packed with 1.5 GHz Quad Core processor combined with 1.5 GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be further extended upto 200GB. It gets its juice from massive 4000 mAh battery.
This phablet runs on Android Lollipop operating system. The Galaxy J Max sports a 8 mega-pixed primary camera with flash, f/1.9 aperture and a 2 mega-pixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture. The camera comes with various modes such as Auto, Beauty Face, Continuous Shot, Panorama, Pro, Selfie, Sports, Sound & Shot, Animated GIF. The rear camera is capable of shooting FHD videos in 1080p @30fps.
Besides 4G LTE support, this phablet also offers connectivity options of Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz and Wi-Fi Direct. This is Dual SIM device and incorporats Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor. This phone has thickness of 8.7mm.
The J Max also comes loaded with S bike mode and Ultra Data Saving mode which is claimed to provide up to 50% mobile data savings by blocking unnecessary background applications from consuming data.
The J Max will face competition from Xiaomi’s Mi Max which has 6.44 inch display and comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor, 16MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4850mAh battery and is priced Rs. 14,999.
