On 29th May, much awaited Samsung Galaxy SIII will debut in Germany and after two days, it will reach India on 31st May, 2012, when it will be officially launched in New Delhi.
While launching Galaxy S III in London on 3rd May, Samsung announced three variants of the Galaxy S III smartphone – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. As per unconfirmed reports, Galaxy S III would have price tag of Rs 42,500, but neither the company has disclosed the prices so far nor the rumour mill has churned out which variant will have price tag of Rs. 42,500. But keeping in view of price sensitive nature of Indian market, our assumption is that 32 GB model might carry this price tag.
Galaxy S III is equipped with 4.8″ inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It has an 8 megapixel rear camera with flash and zero shutter lag and a 1.9 megapixel front camera, which are believed to offer users a wide variety of camera features and face recognition related options. Weighing 133 gm, the phone is only 8.6 mm thick. The Samsung Galaxy S III runs Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, operating system and is powered by Samsung’s quad-core microprocessor.
This smartphone is most eagerly awaited and its pre-launch success can be gauged from the fact that it has received pre-booking orders of over one million. Samsung started pre-booking in India for this smartphone for nominal amount of Rs. 2000 and also got good response in India. Samsung fans in India will have to wait till 31st May when they can lay their hands on this sleek and state-of-the art mobile device.
