To pave way for the launch of the latest flagship Galaxy S5 which was unveiled at the recently concluded MWC, the price of Galaxy S4 has been dropped in India. Surprisingly, there is no official word about the price cut from Samsung India, but few leading e-commerce sites like flipkart have started selling Galaxy S4 for Rs. 29,860; snapdeal for Rs.29,926 and Amazon India for Rs. 29,880.
The Galaxy S4 was launched in India in April, 2013 at MRP of Rs. 41,500 and since then, it has seen many reductions in the price in India. It is also being sold under upgradation scheme and that price turns out to approx. Rs. 31,500 after trading in with the acceptable smartphone. But the new prices being offered by the online portals are without any replacement offer and you can get the S4 at the listed reduced price simply by ordering it.
In the coming week, we expect some official announcement from Samsung about the drop in price of Galaxy S4. This price-cut is timely to clear the stock of Galaxy S4 in India as the next generation of Galaxy S5 will be officially launched in India on 11th April, and Samsung will be focussing on the new Galaxy S5 to promote in India.
