The Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a solid grip and an immersive viewing experience. The company claims that it has world’s first curved display on both sides. Both the devices have glass body, made from the toughest glass to date, with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on both sides.

There is not much difference between Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge except the curved design of S6 Edge and higher battery capacity of S6 Edge.

Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge sports a 5.1-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 577ppi. They are powered by a Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5Ghz, Octacore application processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and internal storage of 32/64/128GB. There is no microSD card but Samsung has taken care of this by providing UFS 2.0 flash technology, which should make for fast storage speeds and overall devices performance. Both the smartphones come preloaded with Microsoft apps such as OneDrive offering 115GB for 2 years, and OneNote.

These devices are equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) and LED flash. These smartphones have 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. Both the devices incorporate camera features such as Quick Launch, Tracking AF, Auto Real-time HDR(Front & Rear) , F1.9, Low Light Video(Front & Rear), High Clear Zoom, IR Detect White Balance, Virtual Shot, Slow Motion, Fast Motion, Pro Mode, Selective Focus etc.

The Galaxy S6 is packed with 2,550mAh battery whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge has 2,600mAh battery. Samsung has introduced for the first time wireless charging for these two devices. They can be charged with any wireless pad available in the market that supports WPC and PMA standards. They are also claimed to sport incredibly fast wired charging, 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5, providing about 4 hours of usage after only 10 minutes of charging.

Both these devices are 46 LTE compliant and  run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS and Samsung has for the first time simplified its Touch Wiz interface to make these two devices run faster. They have made their Touch Wiz simpler and removed the unnecessary notifications.

Both of these devices also boast of features which were introduced last year in Samsung’s flagship devices such as Ultra Power Saving Mode, Download Booster, Private Mode, S Health etc.

Moreover, both the devices incorporate  fingerprint scanning, which was introduced by Samsung for the first time on their Galaxy S5 smarttphone. These flagships will also come  pre-installed with upgraded Samsung Knox security feature.

The Galaxy S6 measures 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm, and weighs 138g, whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge has dimensions of 142.1 x 70.1 x 7.0mm, and its weight is 132g.

To make the offer sweeter for Indian users, Samsung has partnered with Bharti Airtel which will offer double data benefit to its GALAXY S6 & S6 Edge users on select prepaid and postpaid data pack/ plan subscription. While users on Airtel 4G will be able to enjoy double data benefit for a period of 6 months, 3G users can avail it for 2 months.
