Alongside the launch of GALAXY S5 smartphone, Samsung Gear Fit was also unveiled by Samsung at MWC on 24th Feb. The Gear Fit is claimed by Samsung to be industry’s first curved, Super AMOLED wearable device for the health-conscious customers.
The Gear Fit features a 1.84-inch Super AMOLED display with a 432 x 128 pixel resolution, and comprises of a pedometer, heart rate monitor, and a sleep monitor. According to Samsung, the Gear Fit is more than an everyday fitness band as it keeps consumers up to date with instant notifications from Galaxy smartphones such as incoming calls, emails, SMS, alarm, S-planner, 3rd party apps while consumers are on the m0ve. This device has changeable straps and will be available in Black, Orange and Mocha Grey colors.
The Gear Fit is also dust and water proof, and is powered by a 210mAh battery, which gives a typical usage of 3 to 4 days, and up to 5 days with low usage. The device measures at 23.4 x 57.4 x 11.95 mm (body only) and weighs 27 grams.
Like Galaxy S5, the Gear Fit will also be available in global markets from April onwards. The price of this device has not been revealed by Samsung.
