Samsung Introduces Galaxy S4 Mini With 4.3" Display & 1.7GHz Dual Core Processor • TechVorm

As was speculated for quite some time when Samsung will launch compact version of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone, Samsung has introduced today Galaxy S4 Mini. While some may call it younger brother of Galaxy S4, but it is certainly stripped-down version of Galaxy S4, targetted for those customers who can’t afford flagship device but want to get feel and experience of Galaxy S4.

And now, we want to give people more choices with GALAXY S4 mini, similar look & feel of GALAXY S4 for more compact and practical usages ,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics. “The new GALAXY S4 mini provides consumers with a new way to enjoy the flagship GALAXY S4 experience.”

The Galaxy S4 Mini sports a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM.. This smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and is packed with a 1,900mAh battery. The Galaxy S4 Mini has an internal memory of 8GB (user-accessible is approximately 5GB). Its memory can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card.

The phone has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera. The camera of S4 Mini also supports special features such as Sound&Shot, which uniquely stores sound and voice together as pictures are taken, and Panorama Shot, which allows users to photograph the full view of their surroundings, ensure no memory is lost. Photos taken by GALAXY S4 mini are automatically gathered and saved according to the user’s timeline, geo-tagging information, or a specific event to create a photo album.

The S4 Mini also supports Group Play feature, S Translator and S Health, which are found in Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4.

The GALAXY S4 Mini will be available in two colors,-White Frost and Black Mist.The commercial availability of the Galaxy S4 mini supporting either 4G LTE, or 3G HSPA+ or 3G Dual SIM, will be determined by market.

Samsung has not revealed price of S4 Mini and when this will be available in different market. Samsung will most probably announce the price for some markets and availability schedule at their Premier 2013 event on 20th June in London.
