Samsung India has expanded its portfolio of J series and launched today Galaxy J7 Prime at Rs. 18,790 and Galaxy J5 Prime for Rs. 14,790. These phones come in Gold and Black colors. The Galaxy J7 Prime is available in the market now and Galaxy J5 Prime will be available by the end of this month.
Their are certain common features in both the phones. Both the phones have metal unibody design and incorporate fingerprint sensor on the home button. Both the phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS with layer of TouchWiz UI. For connectivity, these phone have options of 4G LTE with VoLTE suppport, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and microUSB. These phones support Dual SIM (2 Nano SIM slots + Separate SD card slot).
The USP of these two phones is that these come with S Power Planning features which has three components – Reserve battery for calls which enables the consumer to allocate a certain percentage of the battery for calls & messages ; Extend Battery time which allows user to extend the usage time of the phone upto twice the current available time and Forward calls capability when their is no battery and the user can forward the calls to a selected contact or any number when the phone runs out of battery. These features enhance the capability of the battery which is very crucial aspect of a smartphone. With S Secure feature, the users can hide or lock applications for increased security and with the help of Secure Wi-Fi, the users can browse on a public Wi-Fi by encrypting data which is being transferred.
On the specifications front, the Galaxy J7 Prime sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. It comes with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 256GB via microSD card. This phone gets its juice from 3300mAh battery.
On the imaging front, this phone is packed with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies with f/1.9 aperture along with LED flash on both the cameras.
This phone has dimensions of 151.7 x 75.0 x 8.0mm and its weight is 167g.
On the other hand, the Galaxy J5 Prime features a 5 inch HD display and is driven by 1.4GHz Quad-Core Processor combined with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be extended upto 256GB via microSD card.
This phone comes with 13MP rear camera with auto-focus, LED flash and f/1.9 aperture and also houses 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and various features for enhancements of selfies such as Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie, Beauty Face Feature etc.
This phone is packed with 2400mAh battery and has dimensions of 142.8 x 69.5 x 8.1 mm with weight of 143g.
