South Korean smartphone giant Samsung Electronics has introduced today the new camera specialized smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, in an event in Singapore. This smartphone is the variant of the recently launched Galaxy S5 and the second camera-centric device, the earlier being Galaxy S4 Zoom. Samsung has not revealed the price and availability schedule of the Galaxy K Zoom.
The key feature of Galaxy K zoom is that it is equipped with 20.7 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor at the rear, 10x optical zoom, and has a slim body compared to the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Other notable features of this smartphone include Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) to reduce blur caused by movement, and Xenon Flash comapred to LED flash in the previous smartphones. The Galaxy K Zoom also has a 2MP front shooter for selfies. The rear camera has advanced camera usability features and functions, including AF/AE Separation (Auto Focus/ Auto Exposure Separation), Pro Suggest mode which offers 5 optimized filter settings, Selfie Alarm that allows users to take timed selfies with ease, and object tracing for a clear, focused shot of a moving subject.
Besides the advanced camera enhancements, which is the focus of the Galaxy K zoom, it also offers features of the flagship Galaxy samrtphone such as Ultra Power Saving Mode for minimizing the battery consumption, S Health Lite for personalized fitness and lifestyle coaching, and a Studio app to allow users to easily edit their pictures and videos.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom had 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display whereas the Galaxy K zoom features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD (720×1280 pixels) display, and is powered by a hexa core 1.3GHz quad-core + 1.7GHz dual-core processor. This phone has 2GB of RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded upto 64GB via microSD card. The Galaxy K zoom runs on Android 4.4 KitKat like Samsung’s 2014 flagship Galaxy S5, and is fuelled by a 2430mAh battery. For connectivity, this phone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB and NFC. This phone measures 137.5X70.8X16.6(20.2)mm, and weighs 200g.
