Samsung has launched today two third generation smartphones – Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. The Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 comes with IPX84 water resistance and are built with Armor Aluminum—the strongest aluminum ever used on a Galaxy smartphone as claimed by Samsung. These phones are covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus to protect against scratches and accidental drops. The Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 have gone through a strenuous folding test, verified by Bureau Veritas, to withstand folding 200,000 times. Both the phone runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1. Both the phones are equipped with Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 sports a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display (22.5:18) with 2208 x 1768 pixels resolution, 374ppi and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It has cover screen of 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display (24.5:9) with 2268 x 832 pixels resolution, 387ppi and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The Fold3 supports S Pen.
On the imaging front, it is packed with triple rear camera set-up comprising of 12MP camera with LED Flash, f/1.8 aperture, 12MP Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, 12MP 120° Ultra Wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera set-up has features of Super clear glass with Corning Gorilla Glass with DX, Dual OIS, 0.5x out and 2x in optical zoom, Up to 10x digital zoom, HDR10+ recording. For selfies, this phone is equipped with 10MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture on the cover screen. There is a 4MP under-display camera with f/1.8 aperture on the main screen.
This phone is powered by Snapdragon 888 5nm Octa-Core processor combined with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB / 512GB (UFS 3.1) storage. It supports one eSIM and two Nano SIM. This phone is packed with 4,400mAh (typical) dual battery with 25W wired and 10W wireless charging, 4.5W reverse wireless charging. It has Side-mounted Fingerprint Sensor.
As for the dimensions, when folded the Fold3 measures 72.2 x 86.4 x 17.1mm (Hinge) – 15.9mm (Sagging) and 72.2 x 166.0 x 6.9mm when unfolded. It weighs 183g. This phone offers connectivity options of 5G SA/NSA, , Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax HE160 MIMO, 1024QAM, Bluetooth 5.1 (LE up to 2Mbps), USB Type-C, NFC, GPS, Galileo, Glonass, BeiDou.
This phone comes in three colors of Phantom Black, Phantom Green, Phantom Silver and is priced USD1799.99 for the 12GB+256GB version and USD 1899.99 for the 12GB+512GB variant. It will be available for pre-order beginning August 11 and will go on sale on August 27 starting with select markets, including the U.S., Europe, and Korea. India prices and availability has not been announced yet.

It is priced USD 999.99 for the 8GB+ 128GB variant and USD 1099.99 for the 256GB variant. It will be available for pre-order beginning August 11, and will go on sale on August 27 starting with select markets, including the U.S., Europe, and Korea. India pricing and availability schedule are awaited.
