Samsung has launched its first ever dual-SIM smartphones in the Indian market – the Galaxy Ace Duos (SCH-i589), Galaxy Y Pro Duos (GT B5512) and Galaxy Y Duos (GT-S6102). Besides, the company also strengthened its feature phone dual SIM portfolio with the launch of Samsung Champ Deluxe Duos (C3312) and Star 3 Duos (GT-S5222).
Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos (SCH-i589)
It is a powerful device which provides a user-friendly and comfortable experience. It comes with dual-SIM Dual Active technology that allows consumers to be available on CDMA and GSM numbers, all the time. The device is powered by an 832 MHz processor, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. It features an 8.89 cm display HVGA display and EvDO Rev A capability, which enables data download at super fast speeds of 3.1Mbps over CDMA network. The Galaxy Ace DUOS comes with a 1,650 mAh battery which is claimed to offer 7 hours of talktime. The Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is priced at Rs 16,900.
Galaxy Y Pro Duos (GT B5512)
It is the 1st Android-based dual SIM QWERTY bar device. With WiFi direct and Bluetooth 3.0 support, the device offers improved connectivity with Touch + QWERTY Key Pad and an optical track pad. With the increasing demand of staying connected, the device supports Social Hub Premium that enables the user to stay connected with their companions. With a 2.6″ inch capacitive touch screen, 3 MP front-facing with VGA Video Telephony Camera and a 1,350 mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro is priced at Rs. 11,090.
Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (GT-S6102)
It is touted to be the Samsung’s 1st full touch dual SIM device. Running Android, the device comes loaded with Social Hub and Samsung messenger, Chat ON. It features a 3.14″ inch display, and is powered by 832 MHz processor. The Galaxy Y Duos is priced at Rs 10,490.
Samsung Champ Deluxe Duos (C3312)
A phone in dual sim series. It features virtual QWERTY, Hindi language input, native Facebook and Twitter apps, all messengers including Yahoo, MSN, and GTalk. In addition, it comes with 3.0 Bluetooth connectivity at 24 MBPs, Push Mail with Activesync and Opera Mini Browser. ChatOn (Samsung Messenger service) is also available on the phone. The 1.3 MP camera, MP3 player, FM radio and 3.5 mm ear jack make sure that the user gets an entertaining multimedia experience. The device is priced at Rs. 4,790.
Samsung Star 3 Duos
A full touch phone is a feature rich device with easy social connectivity. The sleek device comes loaded with features – such as Push IM (ChatON, mFluent), Native SNS (Facebook, Twitter), Weather Widget, Push email (EAS), POP3 email with WDS easy email setup, Dictionary and Hindi Language Input. With a 3.0″ inch TFT dispay, 3 MP camera and 1000 mAh Battery, the device is priced at Rs. 6,290.
With the launch of these smartphones, Samsung has a range of 16 smartphone models priced in the range between Rs. 7,360 to Rs. 38,250!
Samsung has also quietly introduced Galaxy Tab 680 in India for Rs 34,900. It is the fourth tablet of Samsung to be launched in India with Google’s Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. The 7.7″ inch tablet may initially seem like an odd screen size, the ultra slim and light form factor of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 makes it feel logical. The tablet is just 7.9 mm thick and weighs only 335 gm, making it one of the thinnest and lightest devices in its class.
