Samsung has started selling Galaxy Music Duos phone in India at a price of Rs 9,199. Samsung had announced the Galaxy Music and Galaxy Music Duos smartphones back in October. The company is selling the phone through its online store – Samsung India e-store.
The Galaxy Music Duos is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM)phone that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. It comes with a 3.0-inch QVGA display, 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage (expandable by another 32GB).
Other features include a 3-megapixel rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1300mAh battery. The smartphone is targeted at music lovers and comes with a dedicated music key, music player with SoundAlive, 3.5mm ear jack, stereo FM radio with RDS, built-in FM antenna and frontal stereo loudspeaker with SRS surround audio effect. It is available in two color options blue and white.
Samsung Galaxy Music Duos will be competing with Sony Xperia tipo dual, which has a slightly bigger screen and is priced around Rs. 10,000. Although Galaxy Music Duos is slightly higher priced compared to Sony Xperia Tipo Dual, yet the Samsung has the advantage of its brand equity and more acceptability of its smartphones among the younger consumers.
