To encouarage developers to create apps for its recently unveiled Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches running onTizen Operating Systems, Samsung has announced today that Tizen Software Development Kit (SDK) for Wearables is now available for download at Tizen Developer website: http://developer.tizen.org. With the release of this SDK, Samsung is expecting that a variety of applications for Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo will be developed by active Tizen app developer community.
Samsung has unveiled its two new wearable devices – Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo smartwatches which will run on Samsung’s own Tizen Operating Systems to test the waters for its OS and if this experiment is successful then in the coming months, we can expect to see this experiment replicated on Samsung’s smartphones, which are running on Android OS. Currently, the Gear 2 Smartwatches have some of the following apps:
Atooma: is a context-aware application to fully automate actions and tasks across your smartphone and Gear. It will execute your desired actions exactly when you want, and it is able to sense conditions and acts to free you from mundane and repetitive tasks.
Banjo: It enables to access the world’s largest collection of social posts indexed by location, time and content, right from your wrist.
Dacadoo: With Dacadoo, users can measure their current health and fitness status in real time through a personal health score based on body composition, emotions, and overall lifestyle (exercise, nutrition, stress and sleep). All Samsung Gear 2 users will get free 60 day access while kids and youth under 20 years-old get free unlimited access to the dacadoo Health Score Platform.
Besides above, there are other useful apps available for Gear 2 including EasilyDo, Feedly,Focus TRAINR, Glympse,iHeartRadio,iwunta (Cloudwear),Life360,Runtastic,Sleep Genius, Spritz,Strava and Vivino etc,.
Samsung Gear 2 smarwatches will be launched from 11th April alongwith Galaxy S5 which was also showcased at MWC.
