Spice Fire One Mi – FX1 Running On Firefox OS Officially Launched At Rs. 2299

Spice had announced India’s first Firefox OS powered smartphone, Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1, on 22nd August and today they have launched this device at an event in New Delhi. India is the first counry in Asia to get the smartphone running on Firefox OS. The Firefox OS is developed by Mozilla and is running successfully in 17 countries.

Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1, carries a price tag of Rs. 2,299/-, and will be available exclusively on Snapdeal.com for a short period of time and will then be made available through major retail stores, Spice HotSpot stores and saholic.com. Spice has also partnered with Aircel for this device and is offering 1GB Free Data per month for a period of 3 months. Spice Fire One smartphone will be available in three colours – Orange, White and Black.

Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 is the first device powered completely by Web technologies and offers all that the users need – calls, messaging, email, camera and more. The 2G Dual sim enabled Spice Fire One is powered by a 1 GHz processor, 2.5 G connectivity, 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen, 1.3 MP primary camera and 0.3MP front camera.

Based on the open web, the phone has features like Adaptive App Search or the Single Window Search, which allows users to find all relevant information and apps available on the web together at a single click. It also supports several Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil and Bangla.This device also comes preloaded with social networking and instant messaging apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Connect A2.

Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 will compete with Intex Cloud FX Smartphone, which also runs on Firefox OS, and which was launched four days ago at Rs. 1,999/-. The difference between Intex and Spice Firefox smartphones are negligible. For instance, Spice phone has front camera which Intex phone does not have. Spice has 1400mAh battery whereas Intex is packed with 1250mAh battery. Moreover, Spice phone comes with free Silicon cover and as pe the company, for all these advantages, the consumers would not mind shelling out Rs. 300/- more for buying Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1.
