Tata Motors Launches NEXON HyprDrive Self-Shift Gears Variant at Rs. 7.50 Lakhs

Tata Motors has launched today Tata Nexon HyprDrive Self-Shift Gears (S-SG) – XMA, sporting the AMT gearbox in its best-selling XM variant. The Nexon range will henceforth have two AMT variants – XMA & XZA+ which will be offered in 1.2L turbocharged Revotron petrol and 1.5L turbocharged Revotorq diesel engines respectively.

Priced at INR. 7.50 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, for the petrol variant and at INR. 8.53 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, for the Diesel variant, the Tata Nexon XMA will be the first AMT in India in compact SUV segment to offer Multi-Drive modes (3 modes – ECO, CITY and SPORT).

This new variant has “Ivory White” roof-color option to further accentuate the Coupe-inspired design of the Tata Nexon. This SUV has best-in-class ground clearance of 209 mm and is loaded with features like the intelligent transmission controller, anti-stall, kick-down and fast-off for optimizing the automatic gearshifts to provide best power output during overtaking maneuvers or quick acceleration requirements.

This SUV also has features like Smart Hill Assist and Crawl function, making the car high on convenience. While the Smart Hill Assist prevents the NEXON from rolling-back on uphill drives during bumper-to-bumper traffic, the Crawl function comes into play during slow moving traffic by helping the car move ahead without pressing the accelerator. The Nexon XMA comes equipped with a practical cabin which makes driving in cities as well as highways enjoyable.

The Nexon XMA provides standard safety features like dual frontal airbags and ABS with electronic brake-force distribution in all wheels. It has spacious cabin along with a 350L boot space and rear 60:40 seat split to store extra luggage.

Tata Motors launched the AMT version of the Nexon in May 2018 and branded all its 2 pedal transmission cars as ‘HyprDrive’ while all the AMT variants from the Company were termed as Self-Shift Gears (S-SG). According to the company, they have received remarkable response to the Nexon XZA+ and have a plan to capture more market share and customer mind space as a part of its on-going Turnaround 2.0 journey. For this the company has quickly responded to market and introduced the AMT in its mid-variant.
