Toshiba India today announced the launch of its much awaited Windows 8.1 Tablet ‘WT-8’. The Toshiba WT 8 will be available exclusively on one of India’s largest e-commerce portal, Amazon.in, starting 10th Dec’2014 at a price of Rs. 15,490/-
The WT-8 tablet features an elegant Satin gold matte finish, engineered with rounded edges to make it comfortable to hold in one hand. This tablet is 9.48mm thin and its weight is just 385 grams.
It sports a 8 inch HD (1280×800) multi-touch display, and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor, paired with 1GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card.
The WT 8 is equipped with 5MP Auto-Focus rear camera with TruCapture, an app that works in conjunction with the integrated cameras to capture and correct snapshots of whiteboards, blackboards and books so the contents are sharp, clear and legible. It also houses a 1.2MP front camera with Auto-Focus.
The USB Data and Charge Y-Cable bundled along with WT-8, enables you to use a USB accessory or device simultaneously, while charging the tablet. The TOSHIBA Screen Mirroring also makes the tablet a second display for your primary PC. WT-8 tablets additionally make it easy to enjoy content on compatible HDTVs with wireless display support right out of the box.
The WT 8 incorporates the Stereo speakers plus Dolby Digital Plus audio, which provides an immersive audio experience, through Surround Virtualizer and Surround Decoder that convert two-channel stereo audio into 5.1 channels, creating a surround sound experience over built-in speakers. The Volume Maximizer and Volume Leveler boost the original sound without causing distortion.
The battery of WT-8 is powerful and claims to offer up to a 10-hour life for general usage and up to 8 hours of video playback.
The Toshiba WT 8 comes preloaded with apps like Xbox Music and Video, Kindle Reader, Skype and a one year subscription to Office 365.
