Kia is getting huge traction since its arrival in India last year with Kia Seltos SUV. Now Kia Sonet compact SUV is all set to arrive at dealerships which was unveiled in India few days ago . The booking for Kia Sonet commenced on 20th August across Kia dealerships and on Kia Motors India website www.kia.com/in. On the first day itself, Kia Sonet has generated an overwhelming response, with a record 6,523 bookings, as claimed by Kia Motors. For booking this compact SUV, customer has to pay an initial booking amount of INR 25,000. This SUV is expected to be available from next month and then officials pricing would be revealed. The price is expected to start at Rs. 8 Lakh.
The Sonet will be available in a dual trim of Tech Line and GT-Line with multiple powertrain options. It will be available in five variants in the Tech Line – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+. It will also be available in a choice of two gasoline engines – Smartstream 1.2-litre four-cylinder and powerful 1.0 T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) – and efficient 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engines with a choice of five transmissions. This includes five and six-speed manuals, an intuitive seven-speed DCT, first in segment six-speed automatic, and Kia’s new six-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT).
In addition, the Sonet comes loaded with segment-first features such as 10.25-inch HD touchscreen with navigation and live traffic information, smart Pure Air Purifier with virus protection, BOSE premium seven-speaker sound system with sub-woofer, ventilated driver and front-passenger seats, LED Sound Mood Lights, remote engine start for automatic and manual transmission via UVO Connect and Smart Key, over-the-air (OTA) map updates, multi-drive & traction modes for select automatic variants and wireless smartphone charger with cooling function.
The Sonet also incorporates various safety features, including six airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and BA (brake assist) and more.
