Upcoming OnePlus Nord 4 Will Remain Cool Under High Temperatures as Claimed by OnePlus

OnePlus has explained in its post upcoming OnePlus Nord 4 will stay cool under high temperature. According to OnePlus, temperature performance of a smartphone is primarily influenced by three factors: the material of the external body, the internal cooling system, and actual usage scenarios.

OnePlus Nord 4 was built from the ground up to have a cool feel in your hand. The design of this phone is such which balances heat dissipation and comfort. OnePlus team researched on how users use their phones, like horizontal during gaming sessions and vertical when you’re taking selfies and making calls. This led to them building an all new internal structure and using innovative heat dissipation materials to essentially build a thermal conduction barrier between OnePlus Nord 4’s innards and your hand. So no matter what you’re doing with the phone, heat transfer is effectively blocked and the phone remains comfortable to use.

OnePlus Nord 4 is powered by Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 Mobile Platform with one of best ever cooling systems. It uses a high-density graphite sheet, a steel vapor chamber and a micron-level copper foil. Together, this all adds up to 17,900 square millimeters of technology purely designed to keep the phone running smoothly under high temperatures.

In addition, OnePlus has optimized temperature control for scenarios such as video playback, gaming, video recording and calling. Laboratory data show that OnePlus Nord 4, with intelligent detection powered by its 13 temperature sensors, can effectively regulate the phone’s temperature. In tests done by OnePlus community in India at 45 degrees Celsius, with GPS navigation on and 10 applications running in the background, OnePlus Nord 4’s average temperature on the back was shown to be 7 degrees Celsius lower than the Samsung A55. At 40 degrees Celsius, watching short videos on Instagram and using WhatsApp for video calls, the average temperature on the back is 3.5 to 5 degrees Celsius lower than that of the Samsung A55.

The material of a smartphone affects how quickly it heats up or cools down. This is measured by what is called specific heat capacity: the higher the number, the slower the material changes temperature. The most commonly used materials for smartphone back covers on the market are glass and plastic, but OnePlus Nord 4 uses aluminum alloy. And aluminium alloy comes with a better heat capacity than glass – a score of 895 for aluminium alloy and 835 for glass. That means the temperature control capability of OnePlus Nord 4 isn’t compromised by its back cover.

The thermal conductivity coefficient of glass is 1.02W/mK and for aluminium alloy used in OnePlus Nord 4 it’s 200W/mK – more than 100 times better. At room temperature, metal feels cooler compared to glass and can also dissipate heat more effectively than glass, really crucial for heavy users.

Moreover, OnePlus smartphones undergo rigorous safety tests in extreme environments (high temperature and humidity) before leaving the factory to ensure that the phones remain safe and reliable after transportation, storage, external impact, and continuous use. For example, in laboratory extreme tests, OnePlus Nord 4 has been stored in an environment of 75 degrees Celsius for 7 days without any abnormalities in appearance or functionality. Therefore, even if the phone heats up to some extent in high-temperature conditions, it remains safe and reliable, and can be used with assurance.

These are claims of OnePlus and hopefully what they are saying will prove right and users of this phone will not face any problem. Stay tuned for more updates about this phone in the coming days!
