Xiaomi has launched today budget smartphone in India, Redmi 8A Dual. This phone is packed with massive 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. However, you will get 10W fast charger in the box. This phone has plastic body and Aura Wave Grip Design which was introduced on the Redmi 8A. Aura XGrip Design has a mesh pattern on the rear enabling better grip while keeping fingerprints at bay as stated by Xiaomi. This phone also comes with P2i splash-proof nano-coating.
The Redmi 8A Dual sports a 6.22 inch (1520 × 720 pixels) 19:9 HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 processor clocked at 2.0GHz with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes in two variants of 2GB+32GB and 3GB+32GB with expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD card. This phone has support for Dual SIMs plus dedicated slot for microSD card.
This phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 11 on the top. On the imaging front, this phone is packed with dual rear cameras of 13MP with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and secondary camera of 2MP with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras have features of AI Scene Detection and AI Portrait mode. On the front, this phone has 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture with AI face unlock feature. This phone does not have fingerprint sensor.
For connectivity, this phone has features of wireless FM radio, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with VoWiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C. This phone has dimensions of 156.48 × 75.41 × 9.4mm and weighs 190g.
This phone will be available in Sea Blue, Sky White and Midnight Grey colour variants. The 2GB+32GB variant is priced INR 6499 and the 3GB+32GB variant will be available for INR 6999 on Mi.com, Amazon, Mi Homes and select authorized retail partners starting 18th February 12 noon and soon across all offline channels.
Xiaomi has also launched today Redmi Power Bank in 10000mAh and 20000mAh capacities. Redmi Power Bank features a minimalistic design with anti-slip edge grip design reducing the chances of accidental falls. These Power Banks have features of two input and output ports. The type-C and micro-USB ports can be used for charging the power bank and the two USB Type-A ports enable simultaneous charging for two devices. Redmi Power Bank uses Lithium-Polymer batteries which are not only safer but also have higher longevity as compared to Lithium-Ion batteries as claimed by Xiaomi. Redmi Power Bank 20000mAh supports 18W fast charging and the 10000mAh variant supports 10W fast charging.
Redmi Power Bank will be available in White and Black colour variants. The 10000mAh variant will be available for INR 799 and the 20000mAh variant will be available for INR 1499 starting 18th February 12 noon across Mi.com and Mi Homes. It will be available on Amazon India shortly.
