Xiaomi India has launched today its mid-range smartphone – Redmi K50i 5G. This phone sports a 6.6 inch full HD+ liquid Field Fringe Switching (FFS) display (2460 x 1080 pixels) with seven variable refresh rate of upto 144Hz. The display can switch refresh rates depending on the content being shown on it, optimising battery life. Further, the display comes with support for Dolby Vision, with 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage and protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8100 5nm processor with Mali-G610 6-core GPU and is paired with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage or 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
This phone is packed with a large 5080 mAh battery with a 67W Turbo Charger worth INR 1999 included free in the box. The battery can be fully recharged in 46 minutes. This phone runs on Android 12 with the MIUI 13 on top. The brand has promised 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security updates.
On the imaging front, this phone is equipped with triple rear camera set-up comprising of 64MP primary camera with f/1.89 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide lens with 119° FOV and 2MP macro camera with feature of 4K 30 fps video recording. For selfies, this phone has 16MP front shooter with f/2.45 aperture.
This phone supports 12 5G bands which have been tested with impressive results, on 5G networks in an out-of-lab setup in collaboration with Reliance Jio as confirmed by the brand. This phone also offers other connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Beidou, GPS/GLONASS, NFC and 3.5mm audio jack. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and the phone is Splash Resistant with IP53 rating. This phone also comes with support from Dolby Atmos, as well as Hi-Res wired and wireless audio. It is armed wtih dual stereo speakers.
Pricing and availability:
This phone comes in three shades – Quick Silver, Stealth Black, and Phantom Blue. It is priced at INR 25,999 and INR 28,999 for the 6GB +128GB and 8GB + 256GB respectively. The Redmi K50i 5G will be available across online and offline stores including Mi.com, Mi Home, Amazon.in from 23rd July.
