Xiaomi, which is popularly known as Apple of China, has launched today its latest flagship device Mi4 smartphone, at an event at the National Convention Centre in Beijing, China. The Mi4 is upgraded version of the Mi3, which went on sale in India today and is getting very good response because of its umimaginable price of Rs. 13,999.
The Mi4 has a stainless steel metal frame, which accordintg to the comapny, passes through 40 processes and 193 steps to be produced. The device sports the same 5-inch full-HD display (1080×1920 pixels) found on the Mi 3. The only difference is that Mi4 has a JDI OGS full lamination display. It is powered by a 2.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB RAM, and will be available in 16 and 64GB internal storage variants.
On the optics front, the Mi4 is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP front-facing shooter with Sony’s stacked CMOS sensors. This smartphone is packed with a 3080mAh Li-ion battery. The Mi4 runs on the company’s MIUI 6 version of OS, which is based on the Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS.
Xiaomi has not revealed the price of Mi4 and about its availability schedule.
Xiaomi has also jumped into wearable segment and launched today Mi Band, which has a dirt cheap price tag of just $13. The fitness tracking band which tracks activities such as walking, running and sleeping patterns, will be available in various colors including bright orange, pink and blue. It is a water-resistant band and can work for 30 days on one charge. It can also work as an alarm clock and interestingly can be used to unlock Xiaomi smartphone without the need of a password.
It will be interesting to see when Xiaomi brings the latest Mi4 to India and whether this smartphone will also have a revolutionary price tag will be anybody’s guess.
