Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo has expanded its portfolio of S-series of smartphones and launched today in India S850, which was unveiled at MWC in February. This smartphone got very good response at MWC, and for Indian market, it is priced at Rs. 15,499. The company is also offering in this price a snap stand case that provides a stand mode for table top usage.
One of the key features of S850 is that it is equipped with an illuminating logo at the back panel, which glows every time you receive a notification. This feature is rumored to be incorporated on the upcoming iPhone 6 smartphone also.
Lenovo S 850 features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display with ultra-wide viewing (178º) angles, and is driven by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM plus 16 GB of internal memory. This smartphone has thin and lightweight all-glass exterior,and comes in two color variants – pink and white. The S850 is quite slim having thickness of 8.2mm and weighs 140 grams.
The S850 is equipped with 13 MP rear camera with Lenovo’s proprietary SNAPit Camera application and a 5 MP front snapper for sharp and bright selfies and clearer voice chats. The other features of S850 are its speakers placed on both the sides for giving better audio output, the gesture and motion-based enhancements added in the user interface, which offer better one-hand usage of the smartphone.
The S850 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, and is packed with 2000 mAh battery.This smartphone comes pre-loaded with the useful Lenovo apps such as DOit Apps “SECUREit” which is a security software that helps you track, analyse and optimise your data usage ; “SHAREit” App that provides the fastest phone-to-phone data transfer without the need for Wifi or mobile network. It also comes with SYNCit” feature, which offers you to have a permanent backup of all your data and makes it accessible to you on any device.
