As expected, Xiaomi has launched Redmi 6 Pro mid range smartphone in China which is successor of successful Redmi Note 5 Pro. This phone comes in three variants of 3GB RAM+32GB ROM for CNY 999, 4GB RAM+ 32GB of storage for CNY 1199 and finally 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage for CNY 1299 which works out to approx. Rs. 10500, Rs. 12500 and Rs. 13500, respectively. This phone comes in Red, Black, Blue, Gold, Pink colours and will go on sale in China from 26th June. Their is no word when it will be launched in India and at what prices.
The Redmi 6 Pro sports a 5.84 inch (2280×1080 pixels) Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 84% NTSC Color Gamut. The display has notch like an iPhone X and this is the first Redmi phone to get notch display. This phone is packed with 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. This is Dual SIM phone and its internal storage can be extended upto 256GB via microSD card. This phone gets its juice from 4000mAh battery.
For imaging, this phone is armed with 12MP rear camera with LED Flash, 1.25-micron pixels, Sony IMX486 sensor PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and secondary 5MP camera with 1.12 micron pixels and has features of AI portraits and AI scene detection. The 5MP front-facing camera for selfies also has feature of AI Portrait mode.
This phone has fingerprint sensor on the back and also has infrared sensor. It runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo 8.1. It offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band 2.4GHz, 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. This phone measures 149.33×71.68×8.75mm and its weight is 178g.
