Xiaomi has launched today another affordable smartphone, Redmi S2 in China. The highlights of Xiaomi Redmi S2 are its Dual Rear Cameras, 16MP front camera alongwith face unlock feature and 18:9 display. This phone comes in two variants of 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage. Internal storage of both the variants can be extended up to 256GB with microSD card.
The Redmi S2 sports a 5.99 inch (1440 × 720 pixels) HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU and gets its juice from 3080mAh battery. This is Dual SIM phone and offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. This phone has fingerprint sensor on the back and also incorporates face unlock feature.
In the photography department, this phone is mounted with 12MP rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF , f/2.2 aperture, A1 Portrait mode and secondary 5MP camera with features of Bokeh effects. It comes with 16MP front-facing camera with LED flash with features of AI Portrait Mode, AI Smart Beauty and HDR.
The Redmi S2 will be available in Rose gold, Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver colors. In China it is priced CNY 999 ( approx Rs. 10,600 approx.) for the 3GB RAM version and 4GB RAM variant has a price tag of CNY 1299 ( Rs. 13,800 approx). This phone is expected to be launched in India in the first week of June.
