This is where Belkin Conserve Valet comes into play. It provides a central place to manage all the cables as well as hold the devices as they charge!
Complementing a clean yet simple chassis and rubbery black upper surface, Belkin Conserve Valet sports 4 USB ports (3 are located at the back and one is on the sidelines) with 500mA output capacity and AC power cord inlet. The upper surface is slanting and curved from the edge (lower). It’s a non-slip surface which promises to hold onto devices and it works as advertised! Also on the upper surface is embedded a light green push button with an LED indicator located at the top of it. I am not really sure of it’s purpose, whether it indicates device status or energy conservation.
Along with the main charging station you’ll also get a Micro USB cable and a Mini USB cable. Custom made for Belkin Charging station, these are short in length cables snugging around the internal chassis comfortably. This internal structure acts as a cord management solution to take care of all mingling wires.
Coming on-to the energy saving aspect of this device, as evident from it name, duh! The station runs a fixed charge cycle for each USB port and then cuts off the power for that port once the device is fully charged. So in case you charge your devices overnight then this station will certainly save some bucks for you 🙂
To wrap it up, the Belkin Conserve Valet Charging Station is meant for those who need a common charging point for all the devices. However do note that you’ll not be able to fit more that 2 large screen devices (4.5″) or 3 mid sized devices. Another let down is the portability factor, just place it at a fixed location and avoid moving it to and fro, not a deal breaker though.
