WeChat,the popular social communication application, today announced at an event in New Delhi, two new updates – ‘WeChat Games with version 5.1 release’ and ‘AskMe Official Account on WeChat’. WeChat is free for download from app stores running on Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Symbian and Windows Phone operating systems. It is the second the most downloaded mobile social app on iOS app store in many markets, with more than 100 million registered accounts in international markets.
WeChat Games on Version 5.1 will provide users with an ‘All In One’ app experience. There are 4 games which have been rolled out – ‘GunZ Dash’, ‘2Day’s Match’, ‘Craz3 Match’ & ‘Pencil Pilot’.
- Gunz Dash – In this game, you can choose your favourite hero and embark on an exciting advneture in a fantasy universe. Speed through worlds and collect coins for a high score in this thrilling 2D animated, side-scrolling race game.
- Craz3 Match – an easy-to-play and a sticky game. Line up animals of the same kind for spectacular effects and move on to the next level.
- 2Day’s Match – a brand new casual puzzle game. You are required to match 2 tiles of same kind to clear them.
- Pencil Pilot – This game is available on Android platform only, and is a “blast from the past” shooting game where players control an aircraft and shoot down enemy planes.
Users can discover the games on WeChat and can download on their Smartphones separately from the respective platform App stores. WeChat users can play the games, share their scores, post their achievements & invite their friends to join the excitement. The games are also enabled with location based services, by which the users can challenge their nearby friends and other users on WeChat. Game lovers on smartphones can play these action, adventure and puzzle based games through WeChat and stay hooked all day.
WeChat also announced at today’s event a partnership with AskMe with the launch of ‘Official Account – AskMeSearch’ on WeChat. AskMe from Getit Infomedia is premium local search engine available across mobile, voice and web. People can post their classifieds through voice apart from web and mobile devices. With this partnership, WeChat users will be able to access online information on SMEs across local search, deals and classifieds through their WeChat application.
AskMe will also provide information on the trending restaurants, deals of the day. It will also feature classifieds on vehicles, mobile, property and jobs. For the first time SME/Merchants would also be able to reach out to their audience on WeChat.
