Hewlett-Packard (HP) has sent out media invites for an event in New Delhi on 13th Feb where it is expected to launch its 6-inch HP Slate6 VoiceTab, and the 7-inch HP Slate 7 VoiceTab tablet. There are also speculations about the prices of these devices and they are going to priced around Rs. 18K to 20K . This is an attempt by HP to get some share of the tablet market in India, which is very huge and expanding at very fast pace.
The new Slated tablets to be launched will run on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS and will be powered by a quad-core processor, coupled with 16GB of internal storage with the capacity for expansion upto 32GB via MicroSD card. These tablets will have voice-calling capability. For delivering good audio sound quality, these tablets will come equipped with front speakers. Both the tablets will have 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. Both the tablets are thin and easy to carry. The Slate6 is approximately 9mm thick, whereas the Slate7 measures 9.5 mm thick. The rear of Slate tablets are scratch-resistant and have been designed in such a way that it looks stylish.
