Indian handsets maker Xolo has launched today Q2100 smartphone with fingerprint sensor for safeguarding the personal data and to ensure that data is accessed only by the user. This smrtphone runs the Android KitKat 4.4 OS and is available now for Rs.13,499.
The Xolo Q2100 offers advantage over regular patterns locks as only the owner can access the device and one simply cannot forget the fingerprint. The built-in fingerprint sensor in this smartphone is located on the top back of the device and allows users to unlock the screen and quickly access the device at the swipe of the finger. Moreover, maximum 3 fingers can be enrolled and successfully decoded as a part of this authentication process.
The fingerprint sensor in Q2100 is also integrated with LastPass – the password manager app. With this feature, the users will now be able to access LastPass app with a swipe of their finger, access the app with the fingerprint sensor and reach all your accounts securely. This obviates the need to remember multiple passwords.
In addition to this, the Q2100 also comes pre-loaded with Peel Smart Remote app with IR Blaster, which lets users browse what’s on TV now or search for shows they want to watch later. To tune into a TV show, all users have to do is tap on the show they want to watch and then tap “Watch on TV” to change the channel on their TV. Besides being a remote control for the TV and set top box, the Peel Smart Remote app can also control functionality of DVR, DVD player, air conditioner, and other home entertainment devices and appliances.
The other feature of the Q2100 is Smart Touch Gesture that lets users get to specific apps by using pre-assigned gestures, even when the phone is in sleep mode. Q2100 also allows access to multiple apps via Float Task on a dual window operation mode, enabling easy multitasking. While reading or watching a video, user can just pin their favorite app to the Float Task screen and it will follow, while they do other tasks.
On the hardware front, the Xolo Q2100 does not disappoint. It sports a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with CORNING Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is equipped with a quad-core 1.3 GHz CPU, loaded with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM which is claimed to be twice as powerful as old LPDDR2 RAM. It has internal storage capacity of 8GB.
The Q2100 is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera with Exmor R sensor & 2 MP Front Camera. It comes with DTS surround sound technology for delivering good audio ouput for enjoying multi-media content. This smartphone is packed with 2800mAh battery.
From the hardware and software content perspective, the Q2100 appear to be a good package at Rs. 13,499.
